So I have tried to find a comprehensive list online for things that I will need on my travels. So far I have had no luck! There is basically nothing online telling me what essentials I will need so I have come up with a list!
Portable Charger
This was on a few lists I have seen online but I felt like I should add it here as I think we all know what it is like to run out of juice in the middle of the day, with no way to get back to your hotel/lodging. I would recommend buying one with a really large storage.

Charger Adaptor
I think this is a fairly important one! You can’t go abroad without one or two of these, trust me. Make sure you plan ahead for the specific countries you are going to.
Make sure you always look at the voltage and current of your appliance and that supplied by the plug in each country.

Eye Mask
Okay, so I don’t use eye masks normally. But there have been a few times when abroad and the room I’m in doesn’t have a curtain so an eye mask becomes invaliable!

Tablet or Laptop
Whether you work whilst travelling, you want to start writing that book you’ve been meaning to start or you’re planning to start a travel blog, something that can do all of that on is immensly useful.

Travel pillow
I can sleep almost anywhere, so for me a travel pillow isn’t essential. However, I know that some people can’t sleep without there head being properly supported.
